Your friendly hosts at Sunset View Lodge – Shane & Sharron

Sunset View Lodge opened for business in 2006 and has since received consistently high rankings on TripAdvisor, Booking.com, and other key travel websites, including Travelbug, Expedia, Trivago, and NZ.Hotels.com.

Maintaining Sunset View's glowing reputation has been a key focus for hosts Shane and Sharron, who took over the lodge on 29 April 2021. They aim to leave each guest with a sense of tranquillity and relaxation, offering hospitality akin to a homestay in an open and friendly environment.

Sunset View Lodge is a 100% New Zealand-owned family business. Shane and Sharron pride themselves on providing guests with an experience worth raving about – whether you're travelling around New Zealand or the world. They always go the extra mile to ensure every guest enjoys a night of optimal comfort and relaxation, doing whatever it takes to make it a night to remember – especially for newlyweds.

Shane is a local who has lived his entire life in Dargaville and Baylys Beach. He has extensive knowledge of the area and loves the outdoors – fishing, shooting, gardening, and golf. Shane has two adult children who live in Dargaville.

Sharron moved over from Tutukaka but has fond memories of Baylys Beach, having spent all her childhood holidays here. She enjoys meeting people, playing golf, gardening, and spending time with her three adult children and seven grandchildren.

Shane and Sharron are thrilled to have purchased Sunset View Lodge. Together, they share a strong vision for the future of the lodge – a truly beautiful place to call home and share with others. The views and sunsets are simply breathtaking.

Experience Northland accommodation like no other with the warm, homestay-style hospitality of Sunset View Lodge. You'll soon feel right at home!
